The business has to always think about ROI and you had better be prepared to be asked to prove the ROI. Why I say you need to do all of this is after doing it, you’ll be able to defend your proposition and its costs. Think about which additional functionality could make the development of the whole solution to turn a profit? What additional benefits could the business accrue throughout the whole journey to make the investment worth its while? Feel free to ignore me here but I think it’s quite powerful asking these rhetorical questions Investigate that at which step could increase any business KPIs and why. You can do these mind-maps with post-its on the wall, or there are several mind mapping programs for your computer or tablet.
